Step-By-Step Process

STEP 1: Meet With Us

Our first meeting with you is a getting-to-know-you session.

About your needs, your wants and your budgetary and space constraints, such as:

What door styles and finishes do you prefer?
How many cooks help during meal preparation?
Do you prefer cooking with gas or electric?
What brands, if any, are you leaning towards?
How long do you plan to live in your home?

If this meeting takes place in your home, we will measure your kitchen's dimensions and possibly take some pictures, too. This helps us to document the space we're working with and to remember how the kitchen relates to the surrounding rooms.

If you're not ready to make an in-home appointment, bring your measurements to our showroom. Pictures are also helpful. Bring them with you or send the photographs via our web site.

STEP 2: Determine a Budget

A good rule of thumb is to budget no more than 20% of the value of your home. Below are budget examples for an average sized kitchen.

$7000-$10,000
Budget Kitchen Remodel - New stock or semi-custom cabinets, rolled edge laminate tops, stainless steel sink, faucet & limited installation.

$10,000-$20,000
Mid-range Kitchen Remodel - Semi-custom cabinets, beveled edge or solid surface countertops, composite sink, faucet & limited installation.

$20,000-$50,000
Upscale Kitchen Remodel - Custom cabinets, granite countertops, undermount sink, faucet & limited installation.

STEP 3: Create a Design

Our preliminary designs will be developed on a computer using 3-D design software. These depictions are truly amazing in their realistic appearance and accuracy. We will also produce a proposed floor plan and elevations depicting cabinetry, counter and fixture placement. We will work with you to refine the design. Depending on the scope of the project, a small design retainer that can be applied to the purchase of your kitchen may be requested.

STEP 4: Select the Right Materials

No dream kitchen is complete without the selection of materials, ranging from cabinetry to countertops to appliances. Even small details such as moldings and decorative hardware can make an ordinary kitchen truly unique. You will learn about the plethora of choices available and the impact different product options ultimately have on the price of your new kitchen.

STEP 5: Install Your Dream Kitchen

The installation process is oftentimes the step that most homeowners dread. However, wtih our process most of customers are pleasantly surprised, notonly with the quality of the installation, but in the speediness. We use a core group of installers who are only committed to kitchen installations. In fact, one of our installation teams has been with us for over 20 years. With this level of skill and experience, they are truly master craftsmen, not just "installers." An average installation, from tear out to completion takes approximately one week. Of course, this can vary depending on the scope of your project. Many of our jobs are done in a matter of two to three days. In any event, our goal is to get the job done quickly so that the disruption to you and your family is minimal.
